Cally and Fat Tom - Oil on canvas board.  This one was done for a friend of mine who is helping me out with my new house construction.  These are his cat's, Cally and Tom.  I snapped a couple of quick pictures of them without telling why, and made this painting as a gift.  This was done pretty quickly, in a looser style than typical for me, and it was fun.  I really like how it turned out, and I feel it captures the personality of the two cats very well.  My son didn't think it was very good, but he falls in the trap of thinking more detail makes a painting better.  The relatively thick brushstrokes none the less capture the texture of the fur, and in a more dynamic way then if I tried to get really detailed with the hairs.
