Early Delivery

 

Oil.    This is a painting of the Grant Grocery on the corner of US1 and 1st St where I live.  It is in the historic registry and is currently being renovated into a cafe.  In keeping with its historic past I made up the milk wagon and delivery, to go with the scene painted from an early morning photo I took.  Except I removed modern ugliness like power poles/lines, a first floor extension on the right side of  building, concrete barriers to keep cars from hitting the brick posts, etc., and added back the signs that had once been on the building.
