Oil on panel.    This still life was done during a workshop with artist Qiang Huang.  He is a scientist who forged a career in art like I might aspire to, self taught.  He is an excellent instructor compared to most especially in the precision of his thoughts - he is able to explain the what and the why better than most artists who are more intuitive and therefore unable to explain.  He does have a taste for still life with flowers however which I do not care for, especially the roses. So I could tell he really did not like this arrangement of objects from my wife's gardening table.  In the end I am not sure what I took away from the workshop, other than this painting.
