Herding
Cats
Oil.
This was for a self-portrait show with the art group for which I am
currently the president, which given the independent nature of
artists, is like "herding cats". This view is set in
our studio space, with the cats largely made up, but each
representing some of the current artist members. The cat under
the skeleton drawing represents the doctor, an internist. The
Siamese represents the a tall, thin, older man of noble manner all
respect. The Maine Coon represents our Maine artist. The
tabby on the right with the wirerim eyes represents an artist who
looks to me for guidance. The big tabbly on the model stand on
the back represents one of our models, a large lady with strawberry
hair.
