Kelly By the
Sea, oil on canvas panel, 11x14. This one was done with a live
model during an outdoor workshop with the famous artist Arthur Egeli.
He is a colorist, famous for the "mud heads" of
silhouetted figures in backlit settings. This is a difficult
lighting condition to paint convincingly. Mine was the
favorite of his grandson's, but not a colorful as his.
I like the
backlit sarong, the reflected light on the model, and the water
reflections of the mangroves.
