Maine Fishing

Mainely Fishing, Oil on canvas.   This is a painting inspired by a few photos I took in Maine at my high school friend Jeff's cabin in Meddybemps, Maine.  We had a sort of mini high school reunion with about five of us.  We had a great time catching up, visiting the area, and enjoying the lake.  Here, Randy and Al are kayak fishing courtesy of Randy's fishing gear (he works for a sporting goods group) and Jeff's kayak.  Surprisingly, the fishing line and lure really were visible in the original photo from about a hundred yards away.  Wrt to the painting, the dabbled water took a lot of dabbles. Most fun was the late sun highlights on the small island.
