Northern
Parula
Watercolor.
This unusual warbler Northern Parula is the subject of the 2nd of my
backyard warbler series. I have several nice parula photos that I'll
probably end up painting. This shot was as it rested in the
early morning before starting the day of continual
motion.
I like the
negative space here. I made it a little more dynamic than the
original photo. I also like the rolled edges of the scrub oak
leaves and yearning growth of the smilax vine, in addition to the
repose of the bird of course.
