Portrait Studies

This page is intended to capture the portrait studies executed since joining the Melbourne Art Guild in late 2009.  The Guild is a unique group and place, having been organized in 1963 and for much of that time working in the artist loft space on the 3rd floor of the Arcade building in historic downtown Melbourne.  There artists practice their art, pooling resources to pay for models, and draw, paint, figures and portraits.  All serious artists are welcome to attend. Portrait/figure Wednesday and Saturday 9:30-12:30, 8$ guest fee.  Thursday life drawing with nude models, 9:30-12:30.  10$ guest fee. Students are free.  Oh, we're always looking for models, so email me if you would like. 

These are pretty much all done in the 2  hours minutes on the modeling clock.  The painting ones are pretty tough to do and these were my first live attempts and the time constraint has a big impact.  The drawings less so, but still depending on a full figure or just the face, capturing the likeness is tough, particularly to someone new to it like me.
