masonite, after a Bierstadt painting where it was called a cedar
tree I think. I painted this one because my wife hung an empty
frame, with a long and skinny vertical format, as a decorator
item. Then she said yes
after I jokingly suggested I fill it with this picture, which was
the only thing I'd seen in that long vertical format. She actually
likes it a lot, as do I except it takes a lot of light to see the
rich detail in the foreground. There are a man and a horse
hidden there, also.
