Pond Maiden

Pond Maiden, acrylic on canvas.  This was done from a photo in my back yard at the pond I dug with a shovel, down near our creek.  The iron mermaid basks on the concrete bench, with water lilies in the pond.  I did this in acrylic just to have an acrylic category entry for the annual art exhibit at the company where I work.  It turned out a photo of it was banned from the company intranet because of family viewing standards - could not have the appearance of nudity even if in a rusty iron garden ornament commonly found in any garden shop.  Such an appalling lack of reason or good judgment makes me question whether I should participate in the art exhibit again.
